9/14/1933 | Malik Kafur, Alauddin Khilji's Commander, won the impregnable fort of Devgiri. The fort was entered by the enemy. Raja Ramdeva was taken prisoner and sent to Delhi where Alauddin recieved him untill his death in 1312. |
12/16/1867 | Amy Carmichael, Scotch Irish missionary, was born. She went to India in 1895 under the Zenana Missionary Society, remaining there without furlough until her death 56 years later. An invalid during her last 20 years, she worked to rescue children from the Hindus. |
3/22/1942 | Both Congress and Muslim League refused Cripps Mission offer. Congress adopts Quit India Resolution. Cripps Commission came to India which was preceded by Sir Stephard Crips to find out a political formula for transfer of power to Indians. |
